About Us
The Potter Sundry is an old fashioned small town soda shop, serving breakfast and lunch & homemade desserts.
We're known for the Tin Roof Sundae, which originated here in 1932 & is now copied by numerous large ice cream companies- but there's nothing like the original! The soda jerk that invented it said that the peanuts hitting the plate sounded like rain and hail hitting the tin roof, still intact today.
A Tin Roof Sundae is a work of art! It includes scoops of vanilla ice cream, Hershey's chocolate syrup, scoops of chocolate ice cream, Lyons marshmallow cream, topped with Spanish peanuts. And the recipe hasn't changed in almost 100 years!
The Sundry has been featured on the Food Network, by Reader's Digest and is a destination for those traveling along I-80 and a staple for the locals in downtown Potter, Nebraska.
